Services: Practical green consultants with three core services. Helping builders and developers create buildings and subdivisions that are resource and energy efficient. This works includes developing specifications, promoting projects and, linking builders, developers and their communities to federal grants and other funding programs. They also do extensive training in sustainable practices including energy efficiency, lead-safe renovations and more. Finally, they educate consumers through their website, www.ResourceRobin.com, and its companion book, You Don’t Have to Wear Hemp Underwear.
After earning her bachelor of science degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison, Robin got started working on the manufacturing side of the industry. First with RotoZip, and then working for Aprilaire as a specialist in the new home marketplace. After that, Robin transitioned into the consulting side of the industry.
“I get to work with so many diverse people who all are helping in their own way to make the world a little better place. I’m so lucky,” Robin said.
Since joining MABA, Robin has been very involved in the Association, as well as the state and national associations. She currently serves on the MABA Board of Directors and is a member of the Green Built and Education & Safety committees. She had previously served on the Membership Committee for many years. She’s currently a MABA representative to the Wisconsin Builders Association® as a WBA Board of Directors member and is the President of the WBA Associate Advisory Council. At the national level, Robin serves on the NAHB Remodelers Green Remodeling Subcommittee. She is also a Spike and a member of the BuildPac.
Robins says she’s a MABA member because “there isn’t another organization that gives me such a great investment for my time on a local, state and national level.” “Not only do I get to meet and become friends with great people, everyone is interested in helping my business succeed,” she continued.
Her most exciting project to-date was working on the Energy Producing Home with Neumann Developments for the Metropolitan Builders Association Parade of Homes™ last year. “It was the first time we could show affordable green practices in conjunction with a fully renewable,” she said.
Robin is from Madison and currently resides in Barneveld with her husband, Tim, and their 5-year-old son, Zander.
